River Foam Collective organizes a community space called the Fruit Basket, a 3-bedroom apartment above a 2,000 square foot subdivided studio on the street level. We are an orbiting group of trans and queer artists of color residing in Tovangaar (Los Angeles) working across disciplines of social practice, performance and visual art.
Through intimate collaboration we present a hybrid of design, assemblages, installations, and photographs emerging from indigenous cosmologies, queer kinship and ecological knowledge. Mimicking and communicating cosmic phenomena, the works highlight the interconnection between materials, ancestry, spirituality, and the land.
